Just trying to figure out the best "title" for my page - obviously the name of the Australian scientist - but what about when she commonly uses a shorter name than the one she uses for pubs, etc? Also her name is relatively common and some wikipedia pages already exist for both versions of her name. I want to ensure that when someone does a search either in Wikipedia and also search engines (e.g. Google) that different versions of her name will hit the page I create.
To be more specific - i've chosen to create a page for Prof. Jenny Martin at UQ. She uses Jenny Martin on a day to day basis. However, for pubs, grant applications, etc she uses Jennifer Martin (sometimes with her middle initial L). Both Jenny Martin and Jennifer Martin have a reference in wikipedia already so I was thinking to use Jennifer L. Martin as the title for the page I'm creating. However, I'd like people to be able to find this page with a search such as Jenny Martin since that's the name she uses most often.
Any tips appreciated!

The general rule is to use the name she is commonly known as
Jenny Martin
If it is not unique in Wikipedia, what would make it more obvious to the reader if this is the Jenny Martin they are seeking. This is usually done by adding their occupation (or whatever it is that makes them interesting for Wikipedia). So if Jenny Martin was a mathetmatician, call the article
Jenny Martin (mathematician)
as this is more helpful to the reader than a middle initial will be.

You can also make a "redirect" for the other name so that the article can be found both ways. If the real name of the page is "Jenny Martin", create an extra page "Jennifer Martin" whose entire content is one line like this:
#REDIRECT [[Jenny Martin]]
Here I am assuming that neither "Jenny Martin" nor "Jennifer Martin" are already names of articles.

Hi Kateh,
Did you end up resolving this? Let us know which title you ended up with and we'll add it to the tally.
